Shared reading ideas across a week

Check out Jill Eggleton Literacy for ideas on using a poem for shared reading across the week.

On her website she posts a free resource each week. This could be really useful for when you are on Practicum or SBL.

Link to website here.

To access all the free resources you need register once on the site. It is free! She has great teaching and learning resources all ready to go so make use of it.

Online shared reading text

Kia ora tatou!

I have resurrected the blog - woohoo!

On Wednesday we were talking about the use of suitable online material for a shared reading text. We looked at Kiwikidsnews which is a fabulous site for shared reading and maybe even a stimulus for authentic writing.
Kara alerted me to this site called Everything Under The Sun - a podcast that answers children's quirky questions. Check it out for possible reading and writing (and listening) opportunities. It would make a great independent literacy activity.
